Showtime Networks was a proud sponsor of the Out for Undergrad (O4U) Marketing Conference, hosted by Ogilvy at their New York City headquarters on Oct. 5 and 6. The conference brought together LGBTQ+ students from across the country who are interested in careers in sales and marketing. Each year, O4U invites a diverse class of high-achieving students to conferences where they have the ability to network with professionals, listen to keynote speakers, participate in mentorship curriculums and learn about career opportunities from corporate sponsors.
“I was so energized by the incredible students I got to meet!” said August Enzer, Late Night Intern. “I’m excited to bring what I learned back to CBS!”
CBS PRIDE employee resource group members and allies from across all divisions were invited to participate in O4U’s mentorship day, Oct. 5, where they inspired students to tap into their full potential. The event afforded students a safe and brave space to think introspectively and out loud about their self-identify and embrace their strengths. “The O4U conference and mentor experience was an incredible opportunity to meet a group of passionate and diverse leaders in the LGBTQ+ community,” said Ravi Lakhani, Account Director for CBS Interactive. “I left feeling motivated, inspired and excited about the talent pool out there and can’t wait to be a part of what these students do in the future. It was also a great opportunity to network with other diverse and passionate professionals in the industry and get their take on the future of our industry.”
“I was grateful to participate in this event and represent CBS companies,” said Keith Parent, Account Executive, Publisher Services, Simon & Schuster. “I was honored to represent SHOWTIME, as well as CBS and Simon & Schuster, as a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and our CBS family.”
On Saturday evening after the mentorship day, Showtime Networks also hosted a mixer at BounceX to celebrate the students’ achievements and community. “While at O4U, I got to know not only an impressive group of students but also many incredible professionals from a variety of industries,” said Alysha Casnellie, Sr Manager, Media Planning at Showtime Networks. “SHOWTIME’s highly visible participation in such a meaningful conference made me proud to represent the company as an LGBTQ+ employee!“
On Oct. 6, participants networked with human resources professionals at the career fair, which showcased career opportunities at Showtime Networks and CBS Corporation. “The O4U career fair is one of my favorites,” said Cindy Chen, Director, Human Resources at Showtime Networks. “Every year, I meet students who are not only impressive but also so excited about SHOWTIME. I already have a list of candidates that I would like to invite to interview for summer intern opportunities!”
